In-Demand

I read an article about Kris Kristofferson the other day. He is a singer, songwriter and actor who started in the 1960’s. The article was written in 2016 when Kristofferson was poised to turn 80 yrs old. It described how a Lyme disease diagnosis (and subsequent treatment) revived some of his memory, most of which had been lost.

What struck me in the article was how in-demand and busy Kris Kristofferson was (and presumably still is). The year the article was written he had performed two tours with Willie Nelson; collaborated on an album in Canada; starred in a new Western and was on the verge of releasing his own new album. What jumped out as I read his story is this: What creates? What creates our life?

His story makes it obvious.

Most people would say, “It’s the strength of his career (my husband said this) or country artists can have appeal for donkey’s years or it is because he’s a legend.” But how many “legends” – whatever their art form, would love to be in-demand at 80, but aren’t? At all.

It is the soul that creates.

We say the intellect and cognition are “musts” to create a career or even the circumstances of life. We believe a healthy body is a requirement.

Yet here’s a man, Kristofferson, who still has bad memory days, sometimes cannot remember if he went to the studio that morning whose career (and life) are in full-tilt. A good memory – or even a memory at all – are not mandatory for a thriving career.

It is the soul that creates. It is the Conductor. It does not need a certain type of body to do it. It does not need anything.

The Holly Wood

The ancients used to use the branch from the Holly tree to cast spells. The Holly wood. Modern-somebody knew this.

Hollywood loves to cast spells. In the movies the down-on-their luck guy or gal gets their big break and is saved from their sorry lot in life. Suddenly they are rich, beautiful and in-demand.

Do you believe something or someone else can save you? Do you hope that enough likes, attention, good looks or cash can make you the Queen or King you long to be?

Alot of you do. You can insert your Hollywood ending here.

No. No amount of likes, money, love, looks, professional degrees, the Presidency (for God’s sake), being an Influencer or anything else can do this work for you. You are already the Queen or King you long to be, but it is going to take some serious inner work – Inner Alchemy – to own it.

You have to face your fears, think you’ll perish on the street, feel certain you;re going to die alone and alchemize those inner voices and energies. These movies play in your head constantly and they OWN you. You have to dismantle this Influencer. It’s the only one that counts.

Hollywood spells are for beginners. You are not a beginner. You are a spiritual athlete.

The Hollywood Ending, but….

We have a breakthrough. After months, years or even decades we break through the fear that was holding us back and take the brave action. And then…..we’re done, right? We’re Rocky Balboa running up those stairs, conquering it all. Fade to black. Perfect. Forever.

Nope. We’ve broken through the inner shadow archetype mesh, it feels great (it does, it is) and then? It could be an hour or a day, it could be just a few minutes and we’re back in shadow. It’s insidious. It feels unfair.

The Hollywood story tells us all we have to do is get the thing. The physical triumph, the girl or guy and, especially, the money. The more the better. It equates having the money with conquering the shadow. Permanently conquering the inner and outer struggle. That is a lie. Money may or may not show up when you’re mostly (or completely) out of the shadow archetype matrix, but it is not the same. Seems like that should be obvious, but it isn’t. Not in our culture. Not in the world.

Rocky had his moment and then he was back in the ring. Fighting a human opponent and his own inner shadow. Watch what happens after your victory. Do you collapse? Be vigilant. It’s insidious. Don’t collapse.

Spirare 1

Spirare. To breathe. The breath of life.

This insight is not quite formed, but here goes…this inner knot that has been with me my whole life and probably lifetimes and dimensionalities beyond. It says I will lose everything. It chatters that constantly. It grips my gut and wakes me up at night.

But it is an illusion.

I think if I really got that, it would dissolve and delude me no more. But I do get it. Maybe not enough? The knot has enough energy and seeming-life to grip me so.

It is a is a weird place to be. That knowing but not knowing. Knowing in such a way that finally you – ah! – see the roots and yank that weed out of your psyche and soul. I live there alot.

The New Dark

There is a new energy for use on the planet.  Some are calling it Dark energy, like dark matter or black hole energy.  We have negative associations with the Dark in our world, but our challenge is to dissociate the Dark energy with those beliefs.  Those beliefs may have been originally propagated to dissuade us from welcoming and integrating the Dark energy.

Some are saying the old grid – the Light grid – is dead.  Maybe it is.  I am not sure.  I know it is not as solid as it has been (for ages!) and soon will not be predominant in the way it was, but I don’t know if it is gone altogether.  It can feel like it is gone or disappeared, though.

We have been preparing for this shift for  ?? probably a long time.  It has been slow in coming.  I look at how young people communicate – condensing words to a few letters or one image (emoji) – and I see them cultivating (the beginnings of) Dark communication.

The Dark is not negative – in the sense we usually think, like bad – it is just different.  It has different physics and therefore requires new skills from the individual.  This can feel disorienting, sad (because the old way is gone) and scary (because we fear the unknown).

Dimensionality

One difference between the old Light grid and the new Dark energy (don’t know if the Dark will become a grid? [doesn’t seem to be its nature] or blend with a Light grid to form something entirely new?) is in what can be termed “dimensionality.”   It is this dimensionality that gives “room” for the Shadow consciousness (the fears, doubts, worry) to exist.

For example, if you have a sense of futurity – if you believe in a future – this creates a kind of dimensional creation/form in your reality.  It is similar to the image below, except it is your consciousness creating the form: in this case a “future.”  If you believe/create a future and a past, you can then worry about it.  That is where the shadow comes in.  If there is no arc of time – an imagined future and past – there literally is no room for shadow: worry.  There is only the Now.  The Now is not the same – or in any way like – the imagined future and past.

Breaking the Vow of Silence

Today in the car I was listening to an audio when the presenter said, “And maybe you should consider taking a vow of silence about your spiritual practices.” NO!!! I shouted.  To myself. In the car.

I have taken too many vows of silence in other lifetimes. The vow of silence is so ingrained, it feels like a part of my DNA. That said, it is a beloved…most beloved, part.

If you asked me my thoughts about cats or the overdevelopment of land, I would blab your ears off. However, apart from a few subjects that elicit a rant, I prefer silence.

I struggle with this. I struggle with it a lot. It is challenging for me to speak publicly about what matters to me and spiritual subjects, spiritual practices matter. But this is the lifetime where it is my role to speak about them. Loud and proud.

I must speak about them to you.

Birthing the Middle Ground

For reasons not entirely known – who can say? – in some areas of my life the middle ground is hard to accept.  This difficulty gets expressed in form, so, for example, I need to restrict what I eat for health reasons.

Since all creation starts within, can I embrace the middle ground within and smooth out some of the conditions in the physical?

Who “does?”

This is my pleasure reading.  Seriously.  It’s a book about the teachings of Ramana Maharshi who lived and taught in southern India in the late 19th and first half of the 20th century.  He awakened at age 16, with no prior interest in spirituality.

He said, “The ‘I’-thought is only limited ‘I’.  The real ‘I’ is unlimited, universal, beyond time and space.”

What emerges with the limited “I” thought, however, is the world as we know it.

Today when I look out at the gorgeous green land around me, the luminous clouds in the western sky climbing the hill, I see the beauty and I see the unreality.  It makes me feel sad.  But that, apparently, is not the final word.  We shall see.

Consciousness First

Business “how-to’s” are important, but far less important than most people think.  Business strategies are given power they do not possess.  The power of your business is in your consciousness.

Work on your inner state, especially self-compassion and self-love.  Your inner state is the most powerful business tool.

You become magnetic to what you desire, including the business you love and all its mechanics.
